Following a cyclothon in the web cameras
a pastime for some
There are 115 web cameras on the road system in Iceland with more than 650 different views. Most of them are where the road goes over mountains since the cameras are mostly used for the winter service. Yet, the cameras can be useful in a different way. Some people use them to follow the Wow cyclothon around Iceland.
The race was mostly on the ringroad, the number one road in Iceland or Hringvegur (1). There are a lot of cameras on that route. The IRCA does occasionally pick out pictures from the web cameras and publish them here on the Icelandic webpage.
